Holidays to Cancun
The Caribbean climate isn’t the exclusive right of the tropical paradise, as Cancun Holidays set out to prove. Though it doesn’t stretch in all directions, the clear boundless sea of the Gulf of Mexico rivals the glittering ocean of any island nation. And if pristine white beaches are your thing, Holidays in Cancun offer fourteen miles of prime Mexican sunbathing.
Travellers expecting seclusion and quiet relaxation may need to look elsewhere: Cancun is a party city, an attempt to make a resort that crosses Vegas with Barbados. Incredible nightclubs and casinos with sun-loungers, swims with dolphins, jet skiing, reef snorkelling and much more besides. Though the nightlife is perhaps too noisy for a truly relaxed experience, Cancun’s Caribbean aspirations do save it from the superficiality of a Vegas-style resort. The fact that so many Mayan ruins are a coach-ride away contributes enormously to the greater depth of the Cancun holiday experience.
Luxury Holidays to Cancun
Though time on the beach is essential and time dancing in the clubs definitely well spent, your Holidays to Cancun aren’t complete without at least scratching the surface of the Mayan culture. Chichen Itza is about 2 ½ hours from Cancun, an awe-inspiring archaeological site often counted among the ‘new seven wonders of the world’. Another important site is Tulum, two hours south along the coastal road from Cancun. Many of our current portfolio of resorts are based in this stunning southern coastal area, the Riveria Maya (or ‘Mayan Riviera’).
Here, history and tropical harmony collide with ruins overlooking a pristine beach and national park. There are countless pyramids and ruins hidden all around this part of Mexico, giving holidays to Cancun a sense of mystery perhaps missing from the islands of the Caribbean. And once you’ve seen the sun go down in this beautiful, meaningful setting, it’s time to join the party. The hotel zone is Cancun’s answer to the Las Vegas strip, a small slither of land packed with hi-rise hotel buildings, home to several extravagant shows and host to world class performers and DJs.
