Holidays to Dominican Republic
Dominican Republic Holidays offer a high degree of variety in every aspect of your Caribbean vacation. The island that the Dominican Republic shares with neighbour Haiti is Hispaniola, and site of the first European colonies in the new world. The capital, Santo Domingo, has the distinction of being the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas. On their Dominican Republic holiday, the interested traveller can find many 16th Century buildings throughout Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone. These include the beautiful Catedral de Santa Maria la Menor and the impressive Fortalez Ozama, the oldest surviving military fortification in the Americas.
