Things to do whilst on holiday
In a city copiously packed with modern architectural structures, try not to miss out on Old Dubai as it flits away into the past. Why not pay a visit to the Al Ahmadiya School in Deira. Built at the beginning of the twentieth-century, you’ll be witnessing the city’s first school. With a deep and fascinating social history, make your way into the Dubai Museum to learn more about the emirate. In one of the last standing areas of a bygone time – the Bastakiya District – you’ll encounter a host of reconstructed traditional style buildings exuding a sense of Middle Eastern history for those of a mind. But you can’t leave this wonderful location without first discovering the Jumeirah Mosque on Jumeirah Road. Be stunned by the aesthetic beauty of modern Islam!

Weather
Located on the Gulf of Oman and bordered by desert, the weather in Dubai can get extremely hot! From the end of September to the start of May, you’ll encounter a much cooler tempered climate (though still considerably hot!). Meanwhile, nights will bring a drastic drop in temperature. Make sure you bring some suitably cool clothing, as the months between May and September will bring about an intense heat with temperatures reaching highs of 54 degrees centigrade. Unfortunately, such extraordinary highs can prevent many outdoor activities during summer days. However, in Dubai they’ve thought of everything, and you won’t be scratching your head for things to do.
