Holidays to Pangkor

A holiday in Pangkor will take you to a group of gorgeous islands off the west coast of Malaysia. You can choose to spend your holiday on the largest island of Pangkor or her smaller sister, Pangkor Laut. Whichever you choose, you wont be disappointed as you’ll be mesmerised by the stunning beaches, lush forested hills and cool calm waters of the Malacca Strait.

With Pangkor holidays you’ll feel like you’ve found your own eden on these idyllic paradise islands. The perfect place for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. Imagine yourself lounging on the fine sandy beaches as the crystal clear waters lap against the glorious golden shores.

With the island a former favourite refuge for the likes of sailors, fishermen and pirates, Pangkor's treasures will not disappoint, offering you a carefree and totally relaxing holiday.

Great reasons to holiday in Pangkor

  • The beautifully golden beaches
  • Some of the most luxurious accommodation in Malaysia
  • The exotic flora and fauna
  • The fantastic local cuisine – a foodies delight!
  • The wonderful Pangkor Forest Reserve
  • Easy access to and from Kuala Lumpur

Things to do whilst on holiday

Whatever your ideal beach, you’re likely to find it on the islands of Pangkor. To avoid the crowds, head to Teluk Ketapang or Nipah Bay for very underrated beaches that have fantastic views of the Strait of Malacca and stay deserted even during the school holidays.

For some livelier beaches with food stalls and water-sports activities then Pantai Pasir Bogak is probably the most popular of Pangkor’s beaches. Here you’ll be able to rent canoes, go jet skiing, snorkelling and participate in a whole host of other popular water-sports.

At the foot of the Pangkor hill you’ll discover the Foo Lin Kong Temple. Here you’ll find a relatively new temple surrounded by beautiful gardens, lots of aquatic life in the various ponds and a miniature Great Wall of China, which is quite the novelty.

For an active day out why not trek in the Pangkor Forest Reserve. The hike is a wonder as you’ll witness monkeys swinging along on the overhead branches, beautiful and rare flora and fauna and a plethora of colourful butterflies that are tame enough to land in the palm of your hand.

A trip to the Dutch Fort in the southern part of Pangkor will take you back over 300 years to a former Dutch stronghold against attacks from Malays and pirates. Nowadays you’ll find an interesting museum, a modern square and an original canon dating back to 1670 that the Dutch used during their occupation.

Weather

The weather in Pangkor is a tropical climate and can be divided by the wet season from November to January and the dry season from the end of February to October. Quite simply its 3 months wet and 9 months dry!  With year round daytime temperatures of around 32°C and nighttime temperatures averaging 23°C, you won’t need to pack a coat!
