Things to do whilst on holiday
There’s just so much of nature to experience you’ll be walking till your legs turn to jelly. Explore this wonderful stretch of coastline on the Gulf of Thailand and discover idyllic scenes at Khao Tao Hill. You’ll find a more secluded beachfront than Hua Hin as well as a large image of Buddha facing out into the ocean.
For something to quench your historical yearnings, why not visit the Klai Kangwon Palace. Comprising of three Spanish style mansion structures looking out to the sea, this beautiful construction was commissioned under the command of King Rama VII.
Directly opposite this spectacular palace you’ll find the Butterfly Garden. A verdant and vibrant natural space, here you can glimpse the complexity of the orchid and observe numerous butterfly species in a preserved area.
For a sample of the local art scene, check out the Arts and Crafts Centre on Naepkhehat Road. You’ll encounter a private collection of contemporary Thai artists with pieces ranging from paintings, sculptures, and artisan handicrafts.
If you happen to coincide your trip with the month of June then try to see the Hua Hin Jazz Festival. With tropical conditions, coupled by some ‘jazz on the beach’, you’ll get a unique sense of relaxation. Imagine lying on the beach with the clear cerulean sky above providing the perfect backdrop for the staccato rhythms of the saxophone permeating the afternoon air.
Weather
In this region of Thailand you’ll find, like most, a tropical climate of high humidity and irregular rain. When rain does occur it usually comes down very heavily for a very short period of time. The weather is divided into three separate seasons; in June the rainy season commences until October; the cool season occurs from November to February; and the hot season is between March and May.
