Description / Location
Brown-and-black chequered tiling leads across the lobby of the Rendezvous Hotel Brisbane to the reception desk. On each side, the lobby opens up to large public areas. To the left, a library of recessed wooden bookshelves has sofas and armchairs where corporate guests and weekend visitors can relax. To the right, a bar and lounge flows into a small restaurant. The building's basement incorporates the Ann Street Arcade, a small shopping and restaurant mall that leads through to Central Station.
The Rendezvous Hotel Brisbane has a library outfitted with sofas, armchairs, occasional lamps, and shelves of books that can be borrowed or swapped by guests under an honour system. Two computer terminals provide high-speed Internet access (surcharge), scanners, and printers. The hotel has two conference rooms and a restaurant and lounge serving modern Australian cuisine, operated by an independent company.
Just three blocks from the Brisbane River, which provides ample opportunity for walking, jogging, and cycling, this hotel is close not only to the river but also the Botanic Gardens and trendy Riverside and South Bank restaurant and entertainment precincts. Visitors can follow the river for kilometers eastwards to the suburb of New Farm and beyond, and return on the city ferries.
