A high-ceilinged lobby with wood-panelled walls, granite flooring, and warm lighting welcomes business travellers in need of close proximity to nearby office towers and holidaymakers in need of more-than-just-a-room accommodations. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in natural light and views of passersby on busy George Street.
The historical Rocks area, just three blocks from the hotel, hosts an open-air market every weekend. Locals and tourists alike can be seen haggling over the prices of everything from freshly roasted chestnuts to homespun Australian artwork and handicrafts. On weekdays, guests can find groceries, sundries, and fast-food restaurants at Wynyard Station, two blocks from the hotel.

Accommodations

The hotel’s 170 guestrooms include kitchenettes (stocked with everything from Villeroy & Boch dishware to egg beaters), separate living/dining areas, and washing/drying machines. Polished granite floors and counters in neutral greys and tans are complemented by light-wood furnishings and tassel-tied drapes flanking the windows or balcony doors (some guestrooms have balconies).
Living-area entertainment units include CD stereos and TVs with VCRs and cable channels such as CNN, CNBC, and Bloomberg. Second, smaller TVs are located near the beds, as are second dual-line phones with voice mail. Guests can purchase wireless or wired Internet access for preferred time units.

Restaurants & Bars

the lobby café & bar - Serves light meals, pastries, espresso, and wine. Shares the well-lit lobby with the reception and foyer. Takeaway and room service are available.

Activities

Guests can unwind in the rooftop spa tub and pool, or get an efficient workout in the small fitness room, which includes a treadmill, stationary bike, and various weight machines.
A jogging/walking path winds along the harbour waterfront and through the Royal Botanic Gardens, just four blocks from the hotel.
Though the hotel has its own fitness room, yoga, Pilates, and various aerobics classes are available at a health club just down the block from the hotel. Guest passes can be purchased for approximately AU $15 per day (fee subject to change without notice).
