5* Atlantis Resort
Description / Location
Designed around the theme of the mythical Lost Continent of Atlantis, this resort expanded from a casino destination into a family destination by including vast water-park and marine-life attractions. Beach Tower, which was the resort's first structure, and provides the most tranquil location nearest the beach, offers the least expensive accommodations. All Atlantis facilities are accessible from all three towers (the others are Coral Tower and Royal Tower). Beach Tower contains Club Rush teen center, Joker's Wild Comedy Club, and a movie theater. Adjacent are Lazy River (tube) Ride, River Pool, and Poseidon's Kid's Pool. Also adjacent are the marine-life exhibits Hibiscus Lagoon, Seagrapes Lagoon and viewing tunnel, and Stingray Lagoon. Close by is Goombay Water Slide & Baths, a slide and series of spa tubs cut into artificial rock.
Accommodations
The entire Atlantis-Paradise Island resort (Beach Tower, Coral Towers and Royal Tower) offers 2,300 guestrooms. The Beach Tower, at the tranquil east end of the resort and offering the least expensive accommodations, has 423 guestrooms in a nine-story pink building with a lobby featuring pink-marble floor, pink ceilings, and garden atrium. Outside under a Plexiglas roof, plumply cushioned white-rattan couches provide open-air relaxation. (Note: Beach Tower guests register at the Coral Towers lobby.) Guestrooms are smaller than those in the other towers. Beach Tower rooms include full balconies furnished with chairs and cocktail tables. Tropical decor includes pale-peach walls, light-colored furniture, and seashell-motif fabrics.
