Description / Location

This hotel is located on the west coast of Barbados on St. James Beach. A small river bed lies adjacent; banks and supermarkets are 1/4 mile away. The two-story building is set amid lawns, mature trees, and tropical shurbs. There is a beauty salon on site, and other amenities include a shaded lunch terrace and outdoor swimming pool. The nearest fitness center is a 5-minute drive away.

Accommodations

This hotel offers 88 colonial-style guestrooms on two floors. Amenities include balconies, refrigerators, clock radios, coffeemakers, and hair dryers. Junior suites also have in-room safes. Accommodations are available in an All Inclusive Plan or European Plan (no meals).

Restaurants & Bars

Garden Restaurant - Buffet-style Bajan and international cuisine offered. Breakfast and dinner served daily.
Sugar Bird - Beachside bar and grill. Lunch served daily.
Dress code for all food and beverage outlets: Smart casual. Gentlemen must wear collared shirts and ankle-length trousers.

Activities

The live entertainment at Discovery Bay includes local bands and calypso minstrels - added attractions to make your enjoyment even more complete. Swimming Pool: Take a dip in our handsomely sized freshwater pool, or relax poolside in a lounge chair, soaking up the sun's golden rays. Watersports: Sailing, deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, waterskiing, snorkeling and windsurfing can all be easily arranged. Many watersports activities are available from the beach at Discovery Bay. Tennis Courts: Discovery Bay has two tennis courts available to guests. Golf: Golf at one of Barbados' excellent courses can be arranged at your request. The recreational facilities are wide and varied, including table tennis equipment, shuffle board, beach lounges and towels, all provided compliments of Discovery Bay. Horse-back riding, island tours and car rentals can all be easily arranged through our front desk.
