Description / Location

Today the property is possibly the smallest all-inclusive hotel in the world, renowned for its excellent local meals. The Island Inn Hotel originally constructed in 1804 as the Rum Store for the British Military, is restored and refurbished as one of the historic Garrison Building. The hotel is built around a courtyard, which is ideal for cocktail parties and wedding receptions. Situated across a minor road from a beautiful white-sand beach at beautiful Carlisle Bay and less than a mile from the capital city of Bridgetown. Just a short stroll away there are banks, shops, nightlife, the Barbados Museum, and the Garrison Savannah which is still used for parades and horse racing.

Accommodations

25 elegantly restored and refurbished air-conditioned guest rooms, each with a private bathroom, king-size or queen size bed and personal safe. Many of the rooms open on to an attractive garden area with swimming pool. Others are furnished with antique mahogany furniture and four-poster beds, allocated when possible on a request basis for guests celebrating a special occasion during their stay.

Activities

A large central courtyard paved with historic clay-stone bricks. This delightful tropical setting is ideal for cocktail parties, wedding receptions and alfresco dining. You enter the Island Inn on a side street, and walk into a comfortable residents lounge and library. Past this is the bar and the beautiful open courtyard, paved with historic clay-stone bricks and red clay tiles. Here tropical flowers fringe a pool and the terrace restaurant on the edges of the courtyard. Guest rooms, each furnished with either a kingsize or queensize bed, with private bathroom with tub or shower, also open onto the historic setting with their private patios, leading through tropic foliage into the open spaces and the open air.
