5* The Hilton
Important notice: Work has started on rebuilding two breakwaters on Needham's Point and is expected to continue until mid December. This will effect the beach on one side of the hotel, resulting in some disruption and restricted access. The Hilton will be providing lounge chairs, towels and bar service at the beach on Carlisle Bay as a quieter option for guests until the work is complete.
Description / Location
Opened in 2005, this hotel is spacious enough so that attendees in the separate conference center don't disturb vacationing couples and families. The Needham’s Point setting is 3 km (2 mi) from central Bridgetown yet isolated from the busy resort districts. A rock garden with waterfalls divides the resort’s two-level pool complex. The upper pool features a sea-view infinity edge. Rock breakwaters form two swimming coves off the hotel's beachfront. The water-sports center supplies complimentary non-motorized equipment; motorized water sports and snorkeling/scuba excursions in Carlisle Bay are available for surcharges. The Careenage Bar & Grill offers live music three nights weekly and salsa dancing on Saturday nights. During the May–November nesting season, some 250 turtles lay eggs on the beach extending past the hotel—considered the most populous nesting site for Hawksbill turtles in the Eastern Caribbean. Guests can arrange through the hotel to accompany researchers patrolling at night for nesting and hatching turtles.
Accommodations
This hotel offers 350 guestrooms and suites in two wings of eight and 10 stories. Furnished balconies provide views of the open Caribbean Sea to the west or Carlisle Bay and Bridgetown to the north. Decor includes mahogany furniture, crown molding, tile floors with area rugs, Barbadian art, and upholstered reading chairs with ottomans. Other amenities include three dual-line telephones (including a bathroom phone), high-speed Internet access (surcharge), and electronic safes accommodating laptops. Bathrooms contain marble-and-wood vanities, glass-door shower stalls, and separate tubs.

Activities
A two-level pool complex overlooks the Caribbean Sea. Rock-garden waterfalls border the lower, freeform pool, which is 41 m (135 ft) long. A spa tub accessible by a wooden bridge over the pool is half-hidden in the rock garden. The irregularly shaped upper pool is also 41 m (135 ft) long and features an infinity edge with sea views. A children’s pool and a giant outdoor chess set are between the two pools. The hotel's beachfront is approximately 230 m (755 ft) wide. Rock breakwaters form two swimming coves off the beach's point and protect them from large waves, while waves for boogie boarding sweep more freely into another cove. The hotel supplies complimentary snorkeling gear, kayaks, windsurfers, and boogie boards through an on-site water-sports center. Surcharges apply for snorkeling/scuba excursions to wrecks in Carlisle Bay adjacent to the hotel, scuba instruction/certification, water skiing and wakeboarding, banana-boating, and personal watercraft.
