Description / Location

Breezy informality with contemporary style begins in an open-air, marble-floor lobby under the resort's signature whitewashed latticework ceilings of tropical pine and extends through tropical gardens to a long beach. Couples find peace and quiet while families stay active on the beach and in pools. A 457-meter (1,500-foot) beach of nearly white coral sand runs past the resort, with lounge chairs and umbrellas providing sunbathing comfort and snoozing shade. A large lagoon pool in a rock garden includes a shallow children's section and a 10-person spa tub for social soaking. A second freeform pool supplies an alternative freshwater swimming site and sundeck.

Accommodations

The hotel has 161 guest suites in four four-story sand-colored, wood-shingle buildings with elevators. Suites feature large patios or balconies with two-chair dining sets. Decor includes white-washed pine trim, crown molding, pale tile floors, rattan furniture with pastel cushions, and white sheer curtains. Rooms are cooled by air conditioning and ceiling fans. In-room safes are available with a deposit.

Restaurants & Bars

Chelonia Restaurant - Open-air, all-day restaurant with marble floor, plants, whitewashed latticework pine ceilings. Seating also at umbrella tables on outside deck. Buffet breakfast and lunch. Lunch service in winter season from à la carte menu. Fixed-menu service for dinner. Dinner dress code: long pants, collared shirts for men.
Waterfront Restaurant - Casual, open-air spot with wood floors, whitewashed latticework pine ceilings, rattan seating. Buffet lunches in winter season, à la carte service in off-season. Afternoon tea. À la carte dinner menu featuring seafood and Bajan (Barbadian) specialties.
Asiago’s Restaurant - Striped-canopy ceiling, walls of louvered wood shutters. Linen service. À la carte Italian menu. Reservations required. Dress code: long pants, collared shirts for men. Seating is limited to adults and children 12 years and older. Asiago's offers breakfast and dinner room service.

Activities

Use of kayaks, boogie boards, small sailboats, and snorkeling gear is included. Use of two lighted tennis courts and aerobics classes is also included. Personal watercraft can be rented on the beach. Barbados Golf Club, five km (three mi) away, offers an 18-hole championship course (surcharge; Turtle Beach guests receive a 20 percent discount on all golf fees).
