Description / Location
Functioning as a self-contained village, the immense resort attracts couples and families seeking activity-filled days and nights, golfers eager to play a three 9-hole golf courses, and romance-minded couples desiring spa pampering and secluded sunbathing on the beach. Facing 1 km (0.75 mi) of beach, each of the resort's two sides includes an immense lagoon-style swimming pool measuring more than 200 meters (219 yards) wide. Use of kayaks, windsurfers, Hobie Cat sailboats, and AquaTrikes is part of the All-Inclusive Plan, as is a championship-grade miniature golf course. Golfers pay extra to play three 9-hole courses (each par 36, with a total of 9,874 meters (10,798 yards). Also available for extra charges are treatments in a 30-room health spa. As part of the All-Inclusive Plan, guests may use facilities, restaurants, and bars at five companion resorts: Sun Palace, Beach Palace, and Cancún Palace on Cancún Island and at Aventura Spa Palace (adults only) and Xpu-Há Palace on the Riviera Maya south of Cancún. Complimentary transportation to the three Cancún resorts is provided, but guests must arrange their own transportation to the two Riviera Maya resorts.
Accommodations
The majority of meals and activities at this resort are included in the room rate; guests will not be charged extra for a majority of meals and activities (scroll up to the All-Inclusive Details section for more information). The resort offers 2,103 guestrooms in 16 three-story hacienda-style buildings divided between two sides (Sunrise and Nizuc) that include nearly identical facilities and amenities. Rooms feature balconies or enclosed ground-floor terraces furnished with chairs and hammocks that provide views of gardens or the Caribbean Sea. Bathrooms contain two-person walk-in showers and two-person jetted tubs. Liquor dispensers hold rum, brandy, Scotch, and tequila. Minibars contain bottled water, beer, and soft drinks. Decor includes floral tropical-weight comforters, built-in light-colored wood furniture, tan-marble floors with brown-marble accents, and white walls, ceilings, and crown molding. The Nizuc section does not have elevators, but the Sunrise section of the resort features elevators in the Mango, Luna, Pińa, Pińata, Toronja, and Sombrero buildings.

El Manglar - Air-conditioned restaurant serving international breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets.
Arrecifes - Open-air restaurant with seating around indoor pool. Breakfast, lunch buffets. Salad bar and Brazilian-style skewered meats sliced at table for dinner.
Los Caporales - Air-conditioned, Mexican-decor dinner restaurant featuring Mexican ŕ la carte menu. Dress code: Long pants, collar shirts, closed-toe shoes for men.
Palapa Delfines - Casual, open-air, poolside spot. Salad bar, lunch buffet, mixed-grill dinner buffet.
Palapa Pelicanos - Casual, open-air, poolside spot offering buffet lunch and sushi bar.
La Jungla Bar - Bar/lounge open late night to after midnight with live band playing guests' requests.
Lobby Bar - Open mid-morning to after midnight. Continental breakfast. Hot and cold snacks in afternoon. Tropical drinks, cocktails day and night. Live music in evening.
Bugambilias - Air-conditioned restaurant serving breakfast, lunch buffets. Mexican ŕ la carte menu for dinner. Dinner dress code: Long pants, collar shirts, closed-toe shoes for men. Bugambilias is the only restaurant offering night-owl service (12 AM–4 AM).
Momonohana - Air-conditioned, Asian-style restaurant. Dinner dress code: Long pants, collar shirts, closed-toe shoes for men.
Palapa Barracuda - Open-air spot between pool, beach serving light ŕ la carte breakfast, lunch buffet, and ŕ la carte dinner.
La Gondola - Air-conditioned restaurant serving breakfast buffet and Italian dinner buffet. Stained-glass ceiling. Live piano music at dinner.
Palapa Fragata - Open-air spot between pool, beach serving lunch buffet and ŕ la carte seafood for dinner.
Pool Bar Columpios - Open-air bar under thatched roof located on swimming-pool island. Rope-swing seats (columpios). Open mid-morning to late night.
Lobby Bar - Open mid-morning to after midnight. Continental breakfast. Hot and cold snacks in afternoon. Tropical drinks, cocktails day-and-night. Live music in evening.
Andromeda Nightclub & Disco Bar - Dark ambience with sparkling walls. Wood dance floor. Banquettes. Open late night to after midnight. DJ music.
Activities
The Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort is set along 1 km (0.75 mi) of beach, where lounge chairs offer sunbathing comfort and thatched-roof palapas provide shade. Each of the resort's two sides (Sunrise and Nizuc) includes an immense lagoon-style swimming pool measuring more than 200 meters (219 yards) wide that includes shallow areas for lounge chairs, jetted sections, and swim-up bars. Surrounding sundecks include palapas and toddlers' pools. Los Arrecifes open-air restaurant on the resort's south (Nizuc) side contains a 15.25-meter-square (50-sq-ft) heated indoor pool that's popular with children while their parents are eating breakfast. Use of kayaks, windsurfers, Hobie Cat sailboats, and AquaTrikes are part of the All-Inclusive Plan. Independent operators on the beach rent Jet Skis and offer parasailing and scuba diving and snorkeling excursions for surcharges. Use of a championship-grade miniature golf course, five lighted tennis courts, two squash courts, basketball courts, bicycles, and in-line skates is part of the All-Inclusive Plan. Also complimentary are step aerobics, salsa aerobics, abs, firm-butt, body-sculpting, and kick-boxing classes in the resort's two fitness centers and yoga classes in a meditation garden. Aerobics are offered in both of the resort's pools. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the championship course at the the Moon Spa & Golf Club winds through mangrove forests. Amenities include a driving range, pro shop, and snack and beverage carts. Play on the golf course and use of facilities is not part of the All-Inclusive Plan but must be paid for separately. Greens fees include use of a cart. Clubs and shoes are available for rent. Instruction can be arranged for surcharges.
