Description / Location

The old house of the councilman Sotolongo, originally built as a private house at the end of the 18th century, lodges today, the Hotel Valencia. The Hotel Valencia, located on a privileged corner, just 200 meters from The Plaza De Armas, the place where valencian traditionally worshipped. Its carved red roof, balustrades and iron works of its balconies give to its rooms, light and freshness.

Accommodations

The rooms at the Hotel Valencia are exceedingly welcoming. High-ceilinged with huge mahogany and cedar beams, most of them contain some original antique furniture as well as reproduction Colonial-style pieces and a couple have fragments of original eighteenth century mural paintings. They all have Spanish names (Jijona, Gandia, Valencia, etc.) and are decorated with Spanish memorabilia and old photographs of festivals all over the Iberian peninsula. The bathroom facilities are not luxurious – shower rooms and loos in separate tiled cubicles off the main rooms with basin units actually within the rooms – but standard rooms at the Valencia are outstanding value for their relatively low prices and there’s almost always a waiting list for bookings.
