7nt MSC Poesia Mediterranean Cruise

7nt MSC Poesia Mediterranean Cruise

Poetry is like the sea, lulling us with gentle swells and stirring the emotions. As poetry brings us pleasure the MSC Poesia will introduce a new dimension of enjoyment to a holiday on a magnificent and innovative ship. From a balcony overlooking the ocean and a star-filled sky accompanied by the sounds of a Verdi aria, mingling with the samba rhythms from the poolside party … an abundance of emotions will flow. Feelings that will turn into pleasurable memories, to be replayed, like a poet’s images, time and time again.

Itenirary:

Day 1: Venice - Departure port, is a city frozen in the mists of time, ancient yet thoroughly modern. Somehow it survives built on a series of wooden poles that sink deep into the mud and flowing water of the Adriatic underneath the city. World-renowned city of canals and bridges. These facilitate internal transportation and have a beauty and charm that draw countless visitors each year. The modern city embraces the whole 90-mile (145-kilometer) perimeter of the lagoon and includes ten principal islands in addition to those of the mother city and two industrial boroughs of Mestre and Marghera on the mainland.

Day 2: Bari - Situated in Italy’s heel – famous for its beaches, hill towns and fabulous food – is an increasingly popular tourist destination. Commercial and administrative capital of Puglia, a university town and southern Italy's second city, Bari has its fair share of interest. Bari’s rich cosmopolitan past – embracing Byzantine, Norman, Arabic, Angevin and Pisan culture – is reflected in the city’s glorious architecture, especially the remarkable 12th-century basilica dedicated to the city’s patron, Saint Nicholas.

Day 3: Olympia/Katakolon - Venture to the birthplace of the Olympic Games with the stadium, the temples of Hera and Apollo. Visit the Olympic museum, whosemost popular attractions include Painios’ famous Victory andPraxiteles’ Hermes.

Day 4: Izmir - Formerly known as Smyrna, Izmir is located in the Aegean province, which, of all the seven geographical regions of Turkey, enjoys the finest climate. In population it is the third city in Turkey. It is located in an area whose magnificent history has made it a tourist centre. It lies at the centre of the most important land, air and sea communication network in the ancient Aegean region. Izmir is lively and cosmopolitan, also scenic with palm-lined promenades lining the bay, backed by graceful avenues and attractive horizontal terraces rising up the slopes of the surrounding mountains. Visitors come to see the sights, and haggle in the colourful bazaar.

Day 5: Istanbul - The former capital of three empires - Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman - is a fascinating mixture of past and present, old and new, modern and traditional. The museums, churches, palaces, mosques, bazaars and the sights of natural beauty seem inexhaustible. In addition to its unique historical and cultural background and innumerable attractions, modern hotels, exclusive restaurants, nightclubs and shops make Istanbul a visit to remember.

Day 6: At Sea

Day 7: Dubrovnik - Is the capital of South Dalmazia and reputed to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Many writers and travellers remain astonished by its charm, defining the town as the ‘Adriatic Pearl’, the ‘Slav Athen’: a true paradise on Earth. “Those who seek paradise on Earth should come to “Dubrovnik”. This is a statement by George Bernard Shaw when he first visited the town. Anyone who has the chance to visit at least once will surely agree.

Day 8: Venice - Arrival airport
