Built in the 1960s and last renovated in the late 1990s, this casual, family-friendly inn features a pirate-ship-themed children’s pool and 27 acres of grounds with a long central courtyard and a brick promenade that winds throughout the property. Additional amenities include a gift shop, a hair salon, and an Internet kiosk as well as nine meeting rooms and an ocean deck with a surf-and-sunset backdrop—ideal for barbecues and special events. 
    
Accommodations 
 
This hotel has 500 guestrooms and suites with sunny yellow walls and bright decor. Each includes a 25-inch cable TV, a data port for Internet access, and a coffeemaker for added convenience. Rooms are not oceanfront. 

Restaurants & Bars 
 
Captain’s Grill - This steak-and-seafood grill with a poolside patio serves a breakfast buffet plus lunch and dinner all week long. Children 12 and younger eat free with a dining adult.
Ocean Deck Café - Lunch alongside the Atlantic Ocean is available seasonally at this casual café.
Commanders Club - Adjacent to the Captain’s Grill, this on-site bar is open every day.

Guests at this Holiday Inn can play tennis, volleyball, and shuffleboard, and can use the on-site fitness center at no charge. (There’s also a more extensive heath club across the street, Cocoa Beach Fitness, which guests can use at a discounted price.) Water sports equipment like boogie boards is available for rent, and kids love splashing in the hotel’s pirate-themed kids’ pool. Off-water, guests can golf at Cocoa Beach Country Club, a public course just 2 miles away, or try kayaking at the Banana River Aquatic Preserve.
