Description / Location

Located in the middle of the Florida Keys, this laid-back island hotel is just minutes from world-class coral reefs. 134 guestrooms are air-conditioned and have minibars and free cable. Some offer views of the hotel pool and marina. Guests can charter fishing boats at the marina, carve wakes on Jet Skis, or learn to scuba dive at the on-site dive center. This Holiday Inn is located in Marathon, a city in the middle Keys that was incorporated in 1999, though it originated as a fishing village and has been around much longer. Marathon is on Vaca Key and has its own airport (the only other airport in the Keys is in Key West). Guests of the two-story hotel can swim in the outdoor pool, work out in the fitness center, and rent Jet Skis and scuba equipment from the marina’s on-site diving center. A restaurant and poolside bar are also on the property. Marathon is a good jumping-off point for exploring the rest of the Keys, both north and south.

This two-story hotel features 134 air-conditioned guestrooms on exterior corridors. All rooms have work desks, minibars, two telephones each, and dial-up Internet access.

Activities

The hotel has an outdoor pool and a marina with Jet Skis, boats, and a scuba-diving center. A fitness center is equipped with treadmills, bicycles, and weights. Set in the middle Keys, Marathon is a mecca for fishing enthusiasts; snorkeling and scuba diving is also popular here, but fishing is king.
