This 16-acre oceanfront resort attracts families, couples, and cruise-ship passengers departing or arriving at Port Everglades 1.5 miles away. The Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa is large enough to be both tranquil and lively. Tranquility is exemplified by a floral-flavored marble lobby washed by gentle waterfall sounds. Liveliness takes the form of all-day family activities and myriad water sports. The private beach is accessible by wood stairways leading over a low dune. Because it's private, the beach offers exceptional space for the beach bar, lounge chairs, and volleyball games. Bordered by rock-waterfall gardens, the lagoon-style pool provides an alternative to the beach. Above the sand on a sprawling deck are 50 private beachfront cabanas (surcharge) shaded by palms and equipped with showers, TVs, ceiling fans, and lounge chairs.

Accommodations
 
The Marriott offers 636 guestrooms in a 15-story tower. Guestrooms feature Marriott’s Revive Collection bedding: 300-thread-count linens with white-and-beige design; down comforter with cotton cover, freshly laundered for each guest; six down pillows, including bolster; and separate mattress topper. Many rooms have balconies furnished with two chairs and a small table. A daily fee entitles guests to high-speed Internet access, unlimited local calls, and unlimited domestic long-distance calls. Amenities include bathrobes, minibars, hair dryers, and turndown service.

Activities

The Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa includes a 24,000-square-foot health-and-beauty spa with saunas, steam rooms, a spa tub, cafe, and relaxing spa services. The hotel offers five lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, and a dive shop. Scuba-diving lessons are conducted for children as young as 5 (surcharge). A water-sports center rents out snorkeling and scuba diving gear, catamarans, personal watercraft, speedboats, kayaks, boogie boards, surf boards, metal detectors, and shelling nets and arranges parasailing flights and outrigger-canoe tours. Bicycles are also available for rent. Beachside Buddies offers half- and full-day supervised activity programs for children ages 5-12. The hotel’s 8,000-square-foot lagoon-style pool offers an alternative to the beach.
