A driveway lined with palm trees leads to the lobby of the 11-story, smoke-free Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort. Inside, families, business travelers, and retreat guests mingle amid the Florida-style setting. A dramatic ceiling with crystal chandelier tops walls of sage and white. Fashioned of marble, the floor lies under an Asian-style carpet in sea-green and coral. A wall of windows provides expansive views of the upper terrace and pool area. The fitness center offers cardio and strength-training equipment, as well as an aerobics studio with mirrors and ballet bar. Spa services and body treatments include hot stone massage, sports massage, sea salt scrub, acupressure, and reflexology. Tiled locker rooms are equipped with wood lockers, showers, saunas, and vanity areas with complimentary bath products. There are also three Har-Tru tennis courts onsite. The Marco Island Trolley (fare includes all-day boarding pass) offers a 90-minute narrated tour of the island's historic sites, including giant seashell mounds built by the Calusa Indians, the island's first inhabitants. Another attraction is The Old Marco Inn, built in the late 1800s by homesteader Captain Collier—and where island tourism is thought to have begun.

Accommodations

This Hilton resort offers 297 guestrooms on 11 floors. All are nonsmoking. Accommodations all have balconies, and sitting areas with sofa beds. Beds are triple sheeted and topped with floral bedspreads. Traditional-style mahogany furniture includes armoires. Bathrooms offer TVs, outer vanities, inner vanities, and Neutrogena products. Tubs have help bars and wide ledges. Other amenities include refrigerators and high-speed Internet access (surcharge).

Restaurants & Bars

Beach Club Bar and Grill - Poolside restaurant. Tropical-style drinks, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and snacks served. Swimsuit attire allowed. Lunch and dinner served. Open until sunset.
Paradise Cafe - All-day dining. Breakfast buffet includes omelet and waffle stations. Lunch menu offers various specials, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and hot entrées. Dinner includes made-to-order pizzas, seafood dishes, steaks, pasta, and chicken. Adjoining Paradise Porch is fully screened, has wicker furniture, and offers views of the Gulf. Open early morning until late evening. Casual.
Sandcastle Dining Room and Piano Bar - Fine dining. Florida-style décor. Menu includes Lobster Bisque, fine steaks and seafood, rack of lamb, and Oysters Rockefeller. Adjoining Sandcastles Piano Bar has low marble-topped bar with row of club chairs. Sunset happy hour and nightly entertainment featured. Open early evening until late evening.

Activities

This Florida resort offers gear rentals such as Wave Runners, parasails, Hobie Cat sailboats, and kayaks. There is also an outdoor heated pool, and three lighted Har-Tru courts are at the ready (surcharge). Other popular activities include scuba diving, water skiing, fishing, and airboat rides in the Everglades (surcharge). Bike rentals are also available (adjacent to the resort), and there are a number of 18-hole championship golf courses within 15 miles. The on-site fitness center offers cardio and strength-training equipment, as well as an aerobics studio.
