Description / Location
This resort draws business and leisure travelers. The lobby offers a bar, and there is an indoor shopping promenade. Thatched-roof beach cabanas called “chickee huts” are available for rent and include concierge service. Restaurants offer both indoor or outdoor beachfront dining. Personal watercraft, parasails, and sailboats are available for rent. Other amenities include a 24,000-square-foot spa with outdoor therapeutic Watsu pool and fitness center (surcharge); an 18-hole championship golf course including the Faldo Golf School by Marriott; two outdoor free-form pools, a children’s pool, four tennis courts, and supervised children’s activities. The resort is within 30 miles of the Florida Everglades National Park, a unique ecosystem and wildlife preserve. Ranger-led walks, boat tours, and tram tours are available.
Accommodations
The 727 guestrooms are located in two 11-story towers. Colorfully decorated rooms include pillowtop mattresses and down pillows; furnished, step-out balconies with views of Marco Island or the Gulf of Mexico.
Restaurants & Bars
Quinn’s at the Beach - Ceiling fans, bright colors, and patio dining overlooking the Gulf of Mexico evoke an island atmosphere. Salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, and wraps are on the menu. Open for breakfast (seasonal), lunch, and dinner.
Tropiks - Casual, family-friendly restaurant offering breakfast and dinner buffet, and à la carte lunch. Choices include soups, sandwiches, burgers, and Asian chicken salad. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Kurrents - The hotel’s signature restaurant with open-style kitchen. Specialties include seafood and steaks. Dinner only.
Pizzeria - Pizzas and sandwiches served from early morning until late evening.
Tiki Pool Cookout - Specialty drinks, soft drinks, hamburgers, and hotdogs served poolside. Open from mid-morning till dusk (seasonal, weather permitting).
Activities
The centerpiece of the resort is the Gulf of Mexico and its white-sand beaches. Watersports rentals are available, including personal watercraft, parasails, paragliders, and sailboats. Chairs and towels are complimentary. “Chickee huts,” thatched-roof cabanas on the beach, are available for rent and include concierge service. The resort also offers two outdoor free-form pools, one with waterfall and slide, as well as a children’s pool. Four tennis courts and basketball and volleyball courts are additional options. The Tiki Tribe offers supervised child care and includes pool activities, scavenger hunts, lunch, and ice cream (surcharge). Additional options include an arcade/game room and children’s playground. The 24,000-square-foot spa includes an outdoor therapeutic Watsu pool, massage therapy, facials, body scrubs, and manicures. Treadmills with TVs, exercycles, and free weights are offered in the fitness center (surcharge). Complimentary to guests, a second fitness center in the hotel includes treadmills and exercycles. The Rookery, the hotel’s 18-hole championship golf course located six miles away, was designed by Robert Cupp, Jr., and is home to the Faldo Golf School by Marriott.
