South Seas Island Resort will have a fresh new face when it reopens this spring after a multimillion-dollar renovation. The 330-acre island resort specializes in world-famous beachgoing on the Gulf of Mexico—plus personalized service to enhance every stay. Guests will arrive via a causeway linking the airport at Fort Myers, Florida, to Sanibel Island. From there, a tree-shaded road leads to Captiva Island’s northern tip, where the plantation-style resort nestles among lush mangroves and cabbage palms. A wildlife preserve and estuary cover half the property. The former key lime plantation claims a legendary 2.5-mile-long beach rated the most romantic in the nation by Travelocity and America Online in 2004. Visitors spend hours collecting seashells along its length as dolphins frolic in the waves and manatees graze on sea grasses.

Accommodations

The 602 renovated accommodations range from standard rooms and suites to villas, cottages, and private homes. Harborside rooms boast a nautical theme, while beach, bay, and tennis villas sport a West Indian flavor derived from bamboo and teak furniture, lavish bedding, and generous bathrooms.

The Pointe - Features a Tommy Bahama look and Caribbean Grille menu for the entire family to enjoy. Take in the sweeping views of Pine Island Sound, or look out onto the new signature pool and cabana complex.
Harbourside Bar & Grill - Providing a casually elegant atmosphere, our signature restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with views of South Seas Yacht Harbour. At Harbourside Bar & Grill, wonderfully fresh, local seafood, steaks, and chops are enhanced by panoramic views of surrounding waters. The menu offerings epitomize the standard of quality at the resort.
Scoops & Slices - Enjoy delicious ice cream and delectable pizza at Scoops & Slices . Located at the north end of the resort, this delightful establishment takes fun foods to the next level, creating an enjoyable experience for the entire family. Delight in the floor to ceiling sweets, friendly table and counter service, and convenient take-out.
Sunset Beach Chalet - Hit the beach 50's style and enjoy a slice of Americana at our new Sunset Beach Airstream trailer opening in March and located at Sunset Beach on the north end of South Seas Island Resort. Sunset Beach Chalet features classic beach fare with a unique Captiva Island twist.

Activities

Between the gulf ’s warm, gentle waters and the resort’s 18 pools, swimmers will find themselves in paradise. Two new lagoon-style zero-entry pools, one for adults and one for families, form an expansive tropical oasis. Poolside, private cabanas will offer comfortable lounge chairs, plasma-screen TVs, DVD players, refrigerators, and personal stewards to attend to every request.
