Description / Location

Splashing fountains and a waterfall front this five-building family resort. The Alden Beach Resort's lobby opens onto a tree-filled courtyard with pool and spa tub. Up to three generations of families visit this resort annually. The hotel offers two swimming pools, two spa tubs, and a variety of recreational activities. A beachfront bar provides a scenic spot to watch the sun set over the Gulf.

Accommodations

The 140 suites are decorated with a Florida flair. All accommodations provide coffeemakers, complimentary newspapers, and cable TV with pay movies and video-game consoles. Some have full kitchens; others have kitchenettes.

Restaurants & Bars

Cabana Bar - This beachfront bar offers beverages from early afternoon to evening. This Florida hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are several dining options within the surrounding area. Nearby restaurants: Skidders, Crabby Bills, Silas Dents.

Activities

Basketball, shuffleboard, and beach volleyball are available; complimentary equipment can be requested at the front desk. There are two lighted tennis courts, two pools—one for lap swimming, the other a splash pool—and two spa tubs. The 250-acre Boyd Hill Nature Park is a woodlands preserve about six miles from the hotel and offers hiking trails, nature exhibits, and wildlife. Dolphins swim through the Gulf waters along the beach; commercial dolphin-watching cruises are also available.
