Description / Location

Families and business travelers gather at this hotel on St. Pete Beach to enjoy the sun, surf, and sand. Completely renovated in 2006, this is the quieter sister to the neighboring TradeWinds Island Grand resort, with fewer guestrooms and on-site recreational activities. However, guests at this hotel have access to all the facilities at the Island Grand. This beachfront Florida hotel offers two outdoor pools, spa tub, and a fitness center. There's a business center and 8,400 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. Fort De Soto State Park, eight miles from the hotel, has 1,136 acres of recreational options, including a quartermaster museum, picnic shelter, two large swim centers, two fishing piers, a snack bar and souvenir shop, seven miles of waterfront, and miles of nature trails.

Accommodations

This six-story St. Pete Beach hotel offers 159 guestrooms and suites, all of which were totally renovated with crown molding, granite countertops, new furnishings and decor, and new carpet. Many rooms have private balconies or floor-to-ceiling windows with Gulf Boulevard or ocean views. Dial-up and wireless Internet access (surcharge) are available (network cards can be requested at check-in). King beds are not available. All rooms are nonsmoking.

Activities

The hotel is located on St. Pete Beach and offers guests beach cabanas, two outdoor pools and spa tub, and a fitness center. Guests may also use the facilities at the nearby TradeWinds Island Grand resort: five pools (including one for children), four Har-Tru tennis courts, fitness center, playground, hammocks, life-size lawn chess set, and supervised children’s programs (surcharge). The TradeWinds Action Zone (T.A.Z.) offers a variety of daily activities for adults (surcharge). The fitness center has treadmills, elliptical cross trainers, recumbent and upright bikes, cable crossover machines, a Nautilus circuit, free weights, Body Master equipment, and aerobics classes. Guests can explore the resort's meandering canal on paddleboats and gondolas. Parasailing, sunset sails, snorkeling, water skiing, wave runners, and other water-sports options are available beachside at TradeWinds Island Grand (surcharge). The 18-hole golf course at Pasadena Yacht and Country Club is five miles from the hotel.
