4* Excelsior Hotel
Description / Location
Splendidly attired Sikh doorstaff welcome guests with a warm smile. Suits, shorts, and airline uniforms set the scene in the small, contemporary lobby, as international business travelers and leisure travelers mingle with flight crews who make the hotel their base. Many staff members have been with the hotel for decades. The very English Dickens Bar is a long-time favorite among locals and visitors, as is afternoon tea in Lounge on The 1st. Fine dim sum is served at the hugely popular Yee Tung Heen; advance booking is recommended. The 24-hour room service includes signature dishes from all seven restaurants and bars.
Accommodations
The hotel has 884 guestrooms with satellite TV, pay movies, high-speed Internet access (surcharge), voice mail, tea- and coffee-making facilities, irons/ironing boards, and attache-sized personal safes. An orchid, twist of bamboo, or piece of Chinese porcelain is placed in every room to ensure a hint of Asia. About 75% of rooms provide harbor views.
