Description / Location

Guests can experience complete relaxation in the glass-floored Over-Water Spa, with treatments ranging from traditional Thai, Ayurvedic and Swedish massages to cleansing and detoxifying treatments and seaweed body wraps. The Over-Water Spa also has an outdoor hot tub. The Spa Retreat offers nine therapy suites, a steam room, jet bath and sauna, and an extensive range of therapies utilising Thalgo products. Pilates, aerobics, yoga and meditation classes are also available. Guests who wish to explore the area can take advantage of the hotel’s selection of excursions and trips, from snorkelling safaris to night fishing, or spend a romantic day ‘stranded’ on a deserted island. Island-hopping trips to three very different local islands are also available, or guests can visit a rustic fishing island and experience the lifestyles of Maldivian fishermen.

Accommodation

This hotel is comprised of 150 self-contained villas, all of which feature contemporary Maldivian-style wooden interiors and include air conditioning, minibars, safes, wireless Internet, espresso machines, CD players and designer toiletries.

Restaurants & Bars

Koko Grill - Set beside the beach between the lagoon and the Japanese Water Garden. Guests are seated around the grill where Japanese-European fusion-style teppanyaki dishes are prepared. Open for dinner.
The Wine Cellar - Intimate restaurant with wine cellar, set six feet below sea level and electronically chilled to ensure that the 300 different types of wine and 4,000 bottles are kept in perfect condition. Seats up to 12 guests around an oak table. Open for dinner.
Sunset Grill - Set on stilts 50 metres from the shore, over a reef where fish and coral can be seen. A la carte menu with grilled seafood specialties, accompanied by wines from international boutique wineries. Open for dinner.
Vilu Restaurant - Serves a fusion of Euro-Asian cuisine on the edge of the lagoon, alongside New and Old World wines. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Ithaa Undersea Restaurant - All-glass undersea restaurant set five metres underwater on a coral reef, giving diners 360-degree views of the surrounding reef life. Serves Maldivian-Western fusion dishes. Open for dinner.
Mandhoo Spa Restaurant - Set on stilts over the lagoon, 100 metres out to sea, Mandhoo is part of the Spa Retreat and offers light and balanced dishes made from organic ingredients, as well as freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Atoll Market Place Restaurant - Guests stroll through the restaurant's eight different show kitchens, each offering a different type of cuisine: crisp fresh salads and boutique sandwiches at The Deli; sushi, sashimi, tempura and teriyaki in the Japanese Kitchen; fresh seafood, fish and meat at the Market Grill; flavours from India and Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean Kitchen; and freshly baked pizza and home-made pasta in the Italian Kitchen. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Activities

Guests can enjoy excursions to neighbouring islands, as well as snorkelling safaris, diving, windsurfing, big-game fishing, catamaran sailing and cruising aboard the resort’s luxury yacht. The resort’s dive centre offers courses for beginners and trips to the reefs for certified divers, while aboard the hotel’s big-game fishing boat, guests are invited to try their hand at catching Wahoo, Yellow-fin Tuna, Giant Trevally and Marlin. A team of instructors are on hand at the water-sports centre, where guests can windsurf, sail catamarans, jet ski, water ski and ride banana boats.

Spa:
