Kanuhura Resort Maldives, Maldives, opened in February 2000, is a luxurious five star hotel, offering the highest standard of accommodation, service and culinary experience. a well planned nationality mix gives the resort a truly international feel and brings together interesting people from diverse cultural backgrounds and various walks of life. Every effort has been made to retain the natural beauty of the island, and wherever possible, natural materials have been used. Only one third of the island surface has been used for buildings, leaving a feel of spaciousness and tropical slendour. Complimented by its size and layout, Kanuhura offers a choice of pure relaxation, or for the more sports oriented, an active holiday experience.

Accommodations

108 Garden, Beach and water Villas, 5 Beach Duplex Villas, 2 Beach Suites and 2 water Suites - all offering very spacious accommodation (Beach Suites, for example, have an area of 130 square metres). They use natural materials throughout, are appointed with quality timber furniture , and feature air-conditioning, four poster bed, private verandah, natural stone free-shaped bathtub (shower in Garden Villas), outdoor shower, minibar, television and CD player, stereo system and safe. Duplex Villas consist of two villas joined together with a private garden - ideal for families. Suites are designed and furnished, and offer a living room, second bedroom and sundeck with jacuzzi.

Restaurants & Bars

Thin Rah -  is the main restaurant, open for breakfast and dinner, serving an expansive buffet with a different theme each day  A special feature is the series of 'cooking stations' staffed by chefs ready to prepare individual dishes requested by the diner. While sea food is prominent there are regional dishes, fusion cooking, sushi/sashimi, salads, fruits, homemade ice cream and a special selection of child- friendly food.

Veli Cafe and Beach Bar - Is set at the northern tip of the island in a stunning beachside location. This is the perfect spot to enjoy the creative Asian fusion cuisine competing with the drama of a tropical sunset.
Coves  - on neighbouring Jenunuhura Island is a restaurant offering the unusual - elegant, al fresco fine dining on a desert island.  The a la carte lunches of simple, but sumptuous, Asian flavours feature fresh sea food cooked over coconut husks, complimented by crisp rose wines, champagne or light beverages.
Handhuvaru Bar - for 'chilling' during the day.  Sit around the pool or with your feet in the sand and enjoy, from the all - day snack menu and a wide selection of beers, fresh juices or wine by the glass.
Nashara Club -  is the Maldives'  first nightclub hidden away at the far end of the island .  Boogie the night away to international hits  and old favourites.
Lava Lounge - is the place to be for those big screen ssporting events you cannot bear to miss.  This is a cosy, air conditioned room which hosts the weekly movie, a Karaoke evening or may be used as a conference/meeting room with its full range of audio/ visual equipment.

Activities

Spa Pavillion - This lavish setting with its gentle lights and tented exotic feel offers an extensive health and beauty centre, with separate amenities for men and women; aerobics, meditation and gym. workouts.
Land sports - Floodlit tennis courts and air conditioned squash courts with instructors for play or coaching,  table tennis and volley ball, Games room with billiards, table football, carom and darts.
Water sports - windsurfing,  sailing, waterskiing,  canoeing,  catamaran sailing and dolphin safari.  All equipment is s top quality and maintained to very high standards.
Diving - The underwater beauty of the Maldives is renowned.  The outer reef at Kanuhara drops to more than 1200m below sea level, offering an immensely rich marine life. In 10 - 60 mins. guests can reach more than 40 dive sites, among them 2 shipwrecks and a manta point.  Kanuhura's outer atoll location lies far from other resort sites and shipping routes, making it possible to enjoy the best and most exciting diving in the Maldives.
Library - books, c.d.s,  vcds and internet connections allow guests to retreat from the world or keep in touch.
