Description/Location

Meeru Island Resort, fondly known as Meeru by friends, offers a relaxing casual atmosphere. A large island by local standards, much of the island remains untouched, with its natural vegetation intact. It is certainly the resort for you if you would prefer to kick off your shoes and enjoy a casual atmosphere in which to relax.

Accommodation

Built in units of four or five, all facing the beach, the 58 standard rooms offer simple, uncluttered comfort. Cane furniture on a cool tiled floor offer welcome respite at the end of a hot day, and cheerful tropical plants surrounding the rooms remind you that you're on an island paradise. The bathrooms of 20 of these units are partially open, overlooking an indoor garden. All are fully tiled and fitted. Amenities include: twin or double bed, sitting area, internet connection, direct dial telephone, dressing table, in-room safe, mini-bar, tea/coffee maker, hair dryer, bath and beach towels, complimentary toiletries, private terrace, air conditioning and ceiling fan.

Restaurants / Bars

No fuss dining, just good food is the order of the day at Meeru. No dressing up to impress. Just stroll in from the beach or from your room, and sit down and enjoy. The only house rule is that no wet suits or wet clothes are allowed in the dining area. There are two restaurants and three bars where you will find everything you want, and at all hours of the day. So just continue to have fun and there’ll be plenty of food on offer just when you want it.

Activities

A variety of water sports are available at the water sports centre at Meeru. Quality equipment is available for windsurfing. Catamarans, canoes and pedal boats are also available for your enjoyment and fun.

Its almost impossible to spend all your time in the water, so you'll find plenty to do on the land as well. At the resort there is a swimming pool, a tennis court, table tennis and football, and for those who prefer something more cerebral, a selection of board games is available for your enjoyment.

There are also many different excursions to take locally.  Full day trips to uninhabited islands and visits to local fishing villages just to name a few.  The Maldives are one of the best area’s on the planet for scuba diving and snorkelling, with local PADI courses on offer if you wish to learn.  Sports fishing are also a huge attraction and can be arranged locally.

And, for the ultimate in pampering, you can visit The Duniye Spa.  An incredible array of treatments are on offer, all bookable & payable locally.
