Located in the unspoilt south, amidst lush tropical gardens, Shandrani has three different beaches for you to discover, plus the internationally recognised Shandrani Sailing Club and the IKO-certified Shandrani Kitesurf School, perfect for beginners.
The superb Marine Park of Blue Bay opens the doors to a protected and unspoilt marine paradise perfect for diving or snorkelling. Shandrani is also synonymous of original activities, a certified Sailing School, an IKO-certified Kitesurf school and a Diving Centre affiliated to PADI-National Geographic.
Accommodation
The Superior rooms are intimate and modern. The bathroom is sophisticated with the latest design in fixtures, robinetterie and amenities. The light colours and the bay window opening onto the terrace with pergola bring out the room’s luminosity. A gorgeous L-shaped couch is also at hand.
The Deluxe rooms redefine the “contemporary chic” with simplicity and character. The room is spacious with a lounge area, a vast bathroom with bath and shower, a walk-in wardrobe and separate toilets. The furniture, fabrics and texture combine tawny, chocolate and mahogany as well as flowery prints and startling pictures, which capture the essence of the Mauritius.
There are also rooms specifically for families of 2 adults and up to 3 children.
All rooms are sea-facing with the following amenities: individually controlled air conditioning, mini bar, individual safe, hair dryer, direct dial telephone, television and tea & coffee facilities.
Restaurants & Bars
Le Grand Port - Diversity is the word at the Grand-Port, main restaurant of the hotel, which seats 320 and opens for breakfasts and dinners. Its cuisine draws its inspiration from the ethnicity of Mauritius.
Porto Vecchio - Superb Mediterranean specialities elegantly served and masterfully presented.
Le Boucanier - Close to Le Grand Port restaurant, specialising in seafood delicacies. Tastefully decorated with romantic evening atmosphere.
Le Sirius - This bar and restaurant has magnificent views over the bay. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with choices from a varied menu.
Blue Bay Bar - Serves poolside snacks and afternoon pancakes and cakes for tea.
Activities
The Bob Marlin Miniclub welcomes kids aged between 3 to 12 everyday. Qualified hostesses will entertain them throughout the day. In line with its forward-thinking, Shandrani offers a range of original activities: crab hunts, henna hand-tattoo sessions and painting on shirts… Lots of fun in store for the smaller ones!
A baby-sitting service is also available at the hotel at a minimum cost. A 24-hour notice is however required to secure the baby-sitter.
Land sports - Shandrani has a wide range of sporting activities including soccer, volley-ball, cycling, bocci ball, aerobic sessions, tennis (6 floodlit courts) and a 9-hole golf course.
Water sports - Enjoy water-skiing, sailing, kayaking and pedal boat trips. Try out diving in the swimming pool or at sea or one of our amazing catamaran cruises. All water sports are free of charge except for diving and catamaran cruises.
Entertainment - When the night falls, Shandrani reveals in its original shows, the cultural richness and local traditions of the island. The entertainment programme is versatile: Indian, African, Cuban nights, séga nights, fashion shows and much more…
La Source Spa - Shandrani’s Spa has 11 gorgeous and brand new massage rooms, spread out on two separate wings, dedicated to traditional and specialised treatments.The first wing features 2 saunas, 2 hammams, 4 relaxing rooms, and 6 massage rooms with private garden including 2 with gazebo. The second wing focuses on specialised treatments with 1 Indian room, 1 balneotherapy room, 1 room with affusion shower, 1 shiatsu room and 1 traditional massage room. A spacious wooden deck provides a relaxing area with 6 loungers.
Golf - Shandrani features a 767-metre golf course, which runs along the banks of the lagoon, clad into a beautiful 50-acre tropical garden. This 9-hole, Par 29 “Pitch and Putt” (Mashie course) is free of charge and allows you to play in gorgeous scenery. With a “tee-off” located one hundred metres away from the Reception and the beach, this course is both stimulating and fun. The difficulty resides in its small size, which privileges calculated and accurate moves.
Other facilities include Bars, 2 swimming pools, shops, money change, gymnasium, first aid/infirmary, laundry, tour desk, car rental & taxi stand.
