4* Tamassa
Description / Location
A new experience awaits guests at Bel Ombre, on the island's south-west coast.
The 4-star Tamassa stands at the end of a long avenue of mature coconut palms towering skywards. A picture postcard landscape stretches across sugarcane fields to the mountains beyond. The south-west is the most unspoilt part of Mauritius, with spectacular walks and drives through lush, tropical hillsides and a range of open-air activities in beautiful countryside.
Accommodations
The Tamassa hotel offers 214 guestrooms located on three floors, all of which have terraces or balconies and are decorated in a fresh, contemporary style, with stylish fabrics and solid wood furnishings. Rooms include air conditioning, wireless Internet access, flatscreen televisions with satellite channels, DVD players, minibars, and safes. Bathrooms have bathtubs, showers, and separate toilets.
Restaurants & Bars
Main Restaurant - The main restaurant is divided into three and based on the exciting concept of open kitchens, which adds a touch of theatre to the range of international cuisine. For the first part of the day, Tamassa specialises in lavish buffet breakfasts and lunches. Dinner is either à la carte or a sumptuous buffet.
Beach Restaurant and Bar - As the name would suggest, the Beach Restaurant and Bar is a place to relax, with your feet in the sand, watching the sea, having a hearty salad lunch or enjoying latin cuisine. The dinner menu varies from themed evenings to buffets and to à la carte.
Lounge Bar - You walk into the Lounge Bar to be greeted by bright, contemporary elegance. White, blue and ochre shades add a warm glow to the wood, steel and glass surfaces and fittings, as if the sand and sea have inspired the unique décor, combining modern and traditional touches.
Activities
Spa - A tropical holiday is not complete without the luxury of a massage or beauty treatment. The spa, in its exotic setting, adds to that feeling of complete relaxation and well-being.
Water Sports - Free of charge: windsurfing, aqua gym, pedal boats, kayaks, sailing, snorkelling, glass-bottom-boat rides and water-skiing. For a fee: speedboat rides, diving (PADI) and deep-sea fishing, for which Mauritius is famous.
Land-based Activities - Free of charge: gym, beach volley, stretching classes, table tennis, petanque and floodlit tennis courts. For a fee: mountain bikes, billiards and game machines. Next to the hotel is an excellent 18-hole championship golf course.
Night-Club - For youngsters, and the not-so-young too, Tamassa has its own lively Disco.
Kids Club - A circular building houses the Kids Club, which is next to the tennis courts. It has a large amphitheatre-shaped space, a dining room on the terrace, 2 internet-access screens, a sandpit and a rest room. The Club is air-conditioned and is for children between 3 and 12.
