Description / Location

Saman Villas are magnificently perched on a rocky headland divided by two long, seemingly endless, surf-swept unspoilt beaches of golden sand.  Backed by dense green coconut plantations, the resort sits in the quiet-sleepy fishing village of Aturuwella in Bentota. The atmosphere is one of tranquility, disturbed only by the sound of sea gulls and the waves breaking on the rocks below. The views, from anywhere at the hotel, are unbelievably magnificent. 

Accommodations

Each suite is carefully positioned to provide spectacular views of the shoreline and sea.  They include a terrace or balcony, day bed, dining table, lounge area, sleeping deck, dressing room, open-air bath and shower with courtyard, individual climate control, telephone, CD player, LCD panel TV, hair dryer, make-up mirror, mini-bar and safe.

Restaurants and Bars

There are a choice of restaurants overlooking the pool and the sea beyond.  A terrace restaurant opens onto the garden, for breakfast, lunch and weekly barbeque dinner.  The main restaurant is open for diner and is well known for its excellent cuisine and the daily 5-course set menu.
The resort also has two bars with magnificent views - The lounge bar beside the pool has breathtaking view of the different shades of blue from the sea and the pool.  The sunset bar on the upper floor has a panoramic view of the coast and the central hills.

Activities

A freshwater swimming pool with deck chairs and sun shades appears to merge with the vast Indian Ocean beyond. The cascading gardens on the rock face offer a variety of locations to appreciate the magnificent views, caressed by cooling sea breeze, in quiet relaxation. There is a fitness centre for those who wish to work out all their stress, and for those who like to be pampered there is the Sahana Spa where you can receive  aromatherapy, herbal massage, yoga (twice weekly), steam bath, sauna or a floral aromatic bath in the privacy of your open-air bathroom.
Other facilities include a well stocked library with a variety of books covering Sri Lanka, music CD's, a snooker table, table tennis and badminton. 
Evening entertainment is available most evenings (a minimum of 5 days a week) with a variety of programs on offer for your enjoyment.
