On 23 July 1994, the skyline of Kota Kinabalu was destined to change forever when YAB Dato' Seri Mahathir Mohamad, then Prime Minister of Malaysia graced the launching of Sutera Harbour Resort - a dream conceived to develop a world-class resort in a lush tropical seafront setting. Sutera Harbour Resort is framed by serene tropical islands in the South China Sea, with the majestic Mount Kinabalu as its backdrop – the perfect setting which is edged into the environment to become the city's landmark and lifestyle entity. A mere 5 minutes into the city centre of Kota Kinabalu and 10 minutes from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

Guests are welcomed into a grand open-air lobby, characteristic of the local long-houses, there are 456 guest rooms & suites offering a private balcony, bathroom, satellite tv, IDD telephone, in-room safe and tea/coffee making facilities. There are a host of leisure activities for all ages including 3 swimming pools, children’s club, fitness centre, Mandara Spa (see below), tennis, badminton & squash courts, ten-pin bowling, movie theatre, a marina and a 27-hole golf course. Plus 15 food & beverage outlets to choose from meaning guests will be spoilt for choice. Silk Garden - This grand oriental setting of the Silk Garden offers a wide variety of exquisite Chinese cuisine and the lunchtime dim sum menu is always a popular treat among diners.
Cafe Boleh - Our 24-hour coffee house features contemporary cuisine with popular local and Malaysian specialities. This restaurant will appeal to those who enjoy creative dining in a relaxed, casual and friendly environment. Daily buffets are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the most extensive high tea buffet in town is on offer every weekend.
Lobby Lounge - An elegant and relaxing place to meet over drinks and speciality coffees while watching spectacular sunsets unfold through the expansive floor to ceiling windows that grace the main lobby of The Pacific Sutera. Be entertained by a resident band in the evenings. A light snack menu is served throughout the day.
JUGs - JUGs is the premier nightspot in Kota Kinabalu and features a live band every night but Sundays, supported by our Club DJ who spins the latest chart toppers and all time favourites.
Waves Pool Bar - Situated at poolside, enjoy refreshing drinks and snacks as you soak in the rays of the sun and the glorious vista of the South China Sea. Happy Hours available from 2pm to 4pm.

Golf - Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club proudly features a 27 hole, Graham Marsh designed golf course. Consisting of 3 distinct courses, the Heritage, Lakes and Garden Course, varied levels of challenges abound. Breath taking vistas of the South China Sea complemented by lush tropical vegetation and magnificent lakes make this a truly memorable golfing location.
Spa - From the moment you step into the Mandara Spa at The Magellan Sutera , it is evident that you are about to embark on an unforgettable journey to the outer limits of relaxation. Water Sports - Sea Quest, the main water sports centre, located at the Sutera Harbour Marina Boardwalk, has various activities for guests to enjoy. The Marina & Country Club is also the departure point for ferryboats departing to the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marina National Park to discover and explore the five beautiful, tropical islands located within this protected area. Vibrant marine life abound below the surface of crystal clear tropical waters that wash stretches of white, sandy beaches.
