Description / Location

Outrigger Reef has completed the first phase of a $100 million top-to-bottom transformation that will include rebuilding of all guestrooms, reception, and common areas.  The effort will continue through 2008.  Great care has been taken to isolate activity to minimize inconvenience to our guests, and we sincerely appreciate your patience while improvements are made.
Outrigger Reef is steps to the exciting, new Waikiki Beach Walk® promenade with fun fashion and delectable dining. When completed, the new Outrigger Reef will extend Waikiki Beach Walk to the seashore. We invite you to be among the first to experience Outrigger Reef as it unveils a distinctive, refined resort hotel experience on beautiful Waikiki Beach.

Accommodations

The 858 air-conditioned rooms, in three towers on 18 floors, have 20-inch cable TVs with pay movies, video games, and Web access (surcharge). Complimentary dial-up Internet access, coffeemakers, and compact refrigerators. Blue carpets and Hawaiian-quilt-motif bedspreads complement wood furniture. Some simple saver rooms and standard rooms have no lanais or views. All other rooms have lanais.

Restaurants & Bars

The Ocean House Restaurant - Serving contemporary island-style dinners, including fresh fish and prime rib. Relaxed but stylish open-air, beachfront setting.
Shore Bird Restaurant - Open to the beach, serving casual breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including buffets for all three meals and grill-your-own options at dinner. Boisterous evenings with live entertainment nightly.
Starbucks - Serving coffee and pastries.

Activities

From the beach, hotel guests enjoy swimming, body-surfing in the small shorebreak, surfing lessons, outrigger canoe rides, and catamaran cruises (surcharges). A complimentary introductory scuba lesson is available at the large pool every day but Sunday. The complimentary fitness room has a treadmill, free weights, step machines and weight machines. A day spa offers massages, facials, and manicures (surcharges).
The public Ala Wai Golf Course is a 10-minute drive away.
The Outrigger Reef on the Beach is a five-minute walk from the U.S. Army Museum at Ft. DeRussy. Housed in a WWII shore gun emplacement, exhibits feature historical Army uniforms and weapons. A 20-minute walk from the hotel, Ala Moana Shopping Center offers a mix of designer boutiques such as Armani, national chains such as Old Navy, fun gift shops, and international take-out food. The shopping center is also a hub for O’ahu buses.
