Guests check in at a large, marble-and-stone lobby with a 14-foot-tall aquarium in the 43-story Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Located at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, but connected to the main part of the Strip via complimentary monorail, the tropical-themed hotel is popular with leisure travelers. The hotel's 20 restaurants and lounges serve such eclectic cuisine as Russian, French, Chinese, Mexican, American, Creole, and Italian. An 11-acre tropical water complex includes a sandy artificial beach and seasonal wave pool, as well as three freeform outdoor pools. For entertainment, guests enjoy a 135,000-square-foot casino, a shark-themed aquarium, and live theater, music, and sports venues (surcharges).

Accommodations

All 3,215 guestrooms and suites in the 43-story hotel offer high-speed Internet access (surcharge), in-room safes, premium channels, and CD players. Bathrooms include stone vanities with double sinks, separate soaking tubs and showers, phones, and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, some with views of the Strip.

The 30,000-square-foot Spa Mandalay (surcharge) provides spa treatments, personal training, fitness equipment, a redwood sauna, eucalyptus steam room, warm and hot spa tubs, and cold plunge pool. An 11-acre sandy water complex includes three freeform pools and a seasonal lazy river and wave pool. Beachside dining and cabanas are available. The South Seas-themed Bali Hai Golf Club is a half-mile away; preferential tee times can be arranged for Mandalay Bay Resort guests upon request. The 18-hole courses at Desert Pines Golf Club and Royal Links Golf Club are both within 11 miles of the hotel. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, 21.5 miles away, provides rock climbing, biking and hiking trails, and scenic drives.
