Description / Location

With tranquil lobby on the third floor and security guards screening visitors on the ground floor, this New York City hotel rises above the Times Square hubbub. The Doubletree’s theater-themed Center Stage Café serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and pre-theater meals. A complimentary fitness center contains cardio machines, a weight machine, and free weights. A self-service business center offers three computers with high-speed Internet access, a copier, a printer, and a fax machine (surcharges for all services). Guests can connect their laptop computers to the printer from their suites (surcharge). In addition to offering same-day discount tickets to Broadway shows, the TKTS booth across the street sells deep-discount tickets to some shows shortly before performances. The booth accepts only cash or travelers’ checks.

Accommodations

Doubletree Guest Suites offers 460 two-room suites on floors eight through 43 of a 43-story building. Renovated in 2005, suites feature the Sweet Dreams® by Doubletree Sleep Experience bed: plush-top mattress, triple sheeting with 300-thread-count linens, a down comforter, and oversized down pillows.

Restaurants & Bars

Center Stage Café - Theater-themed restaurant with stage lighting, theatrical murals. Open for buffet and à la carte breakfast, à la carte lunch and dinner. Pre-theater menu. American fare.
Center Stage Lounge - Skylighted ceiling. Mural depicting theater stars such as Liza Minnelli, Zero Mostel, and Carol Channing. Broadway memorabilia, including a safe from the original Palace Theater and costumes, playbills, and photos from classic Broadway productions. Open midday to late night for bar menu, cocktails.
Coffee Kiosk - Lobby spot serving coffee, espresso, snacks, smoothies from early morning to late night.

Activities

Central Park, 12 blocks north, offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including ball fields, tennis courts, rowboat rentals, horseback riding, and miles of trails for hiking, biking, running, and in-line skating. Rockefeller Center's famed skating rink, two blocks away, opens in winter, as does Central Park's Wollman Rink. Guests of Doubletree Guest Suites receive a discount at a health club four blocks away. A golf driving range is located at the Chelsea Piers sports/entertainment complex, 1.75 miles west of the hotel.
