Built as part of the redevelopment of San Francisco following the 1906 earthquake, the historic Ramada Plaza Downtown has a voluminous lobby with 30-foot ceilings, Austrian crystal chandeliers, and stained-glass windows. The hotel is popular with vacationing theater buffs and business travelers who appreciate its central location and opulent, early-20th-century styling. The hotel features a large restaurant particularly popular with theatergoers. The hotel bar, just inside the restaurant off the lobby, has a beautiful original Tiffany ceiling. An Internet café offers high-speed Internet access as well as a computer, printer, fax, and copier. Florinda's Market Street Grill - Named for the hotel owner's wife, the Florinda specializes in steaks and seafood. The menu changes with each Broadway-style show at the nearby Orpheum Theater. The restaurant seats 220 and overlooks Market Street. The dining room has a large fireplace and is divided by wide, blonde-wood rails. The small bar has a Tiffany stained-glass ceiling. Florinda's is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
