Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Overview

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is an authentic touch of Africa in the middle of Orlando. The 43-acre resort is an expansive wildlife reserve designed to resemble an African village. The hotel features unique African artefacts, thatched ceilings and a huge mud fireplace in the main lobby to give you a real feeling of the spirit of the area. What also helps are the 30 species of wildlife that roam around the flourishing tropical savannas.

You can feast your eyes on the zebra, gazelle or flamingo try and catch a glimpse of the white-bearded wildebeest or turn your eyes upwards to gaze at the giraffes.

Once you’ve had your fill of the wildlife, why not try chow down on some of their cuisine? The hotel offers two award-winning restaurants, Jiko- the Cooking Place and Boma – Flavors of Africa. You can also take an invigorating dip in the Uzima swimming pool which amounts to some 11,000 square foot of zero depth entry water and also features a 67-foot long slide.

There are also plenty of activities to keep the little ones amused long after the cows have gone home. There’s a wadding pool, animal-themed activities, a 24-hour playground and also a hi-tech games room.
