Hawks Cay
by Leah Quille, stay date: 08 Apr 2012
On our first impression of this hotel it looked lovely however it was not all it seemed. We booked a double room for my husband and I and two children (aged 9 and 12) the room was very compact should we say, with two double beds. The bathroom consisted of a bath with a shower over it... when you showered after clambering over a large ledge to get in the bath the water went everwhere and flooded the whole bathroom. Obviously a problem with damp which was disguised with air fresheners. The pool was very small and packed but towels where provided. House keeping was poor and often the rooms where not cleaned when you returned from your day. Our main grievence with the hotel was the 18% gratutity that was added to everything you purchased even when you went to the bar to get a drink. They said it was for our convenience so you didn't have to tip!!!! therefore making everthing very expensive. Tom's Harbour restaurant was ok we only ate there once and I had to send my food back as it was undercooked the Alma restaurant in the main hotel had limited choice of which non where children friendly. Located was good.
